A Certification Planner assists application owners with the planning and prerequisites for the certification and deployment of new or upgraded applications. Coordination and tracking of multiple teams activities during the software package creation, testing, and production deployment phase is the primary role. This resource ensures that every desktop application is packaged and deployed in accordance with best practices. This role assists in the creation of install instructions and test scripts and ensures that every affected group is communicated to and has signed-off on the stability and readiness of the application/software. His/Her goals are to expedite the certification process while ensuring quality deliverables and minimizing partner inconveniences and outages.
The ideal candidate will have strong project management and application skills with the ability to handle many small tasks simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand and translate technical information into easy to understand language. Experience with application design, distribution, compatibility, development or analysis is very helpful.
Experience with applications, especially financial and banking applications is a plus.
The ideal candidate is a cross between a Business Analyst, PC/Server Technician, Project Manager and Application Developer. Excel (vlookups), Remedy, LANDesk, SCCM, and Active Directory experience preferred.
The ability to speak from authority and listen from experience is also important.
