Job Description:
SUMMARY

The IT Support Specialist provides technical and procedural advice, assistance, and support and problem resolution for our client's associates. This position has a variety of technical requirements that span multiple operating platforms and systems. This job does not have any direct control over budget. However, decisions about problem resolutions and procedural advice can have a significant impact to the business. Operates with considerable latitude in accomplishing tasks. Keeps leaders informed of decisions and impact, however decisions are subject to review.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Responds to a variety of problem reported inputs including, phone, email, web tickets. Provides technical and procedural advice, assistance, support and problem resolution to the full compliment of systems, hardware and software. Resolution is delivered by either phone, email, remote assistance or a visit to an associate's desk.

Applies troubleshooting techniques and technical knowledge to identify the severity of the problem and the needed steps to resolve the problem. Independently assesses reported problems, questions and requests with a focus on consistent information gathering and diagnostics.

Document all reported problems, requests and questions into the problem management database.

Research problems that do not have a documented solution and formulate a resolution.

Review daily ticket flow to make sure all issues are properly researched, updated, resolved or escalated.

Review and update knowledge articles to assist with the troubleshooting and resolution of technical problems.

Review training material and self study tools to stay informed of current technologies.

Responsible for the installation and configuration of new and replacement hardware and software.

Demonstrates a commitment to our client's core values of safety, integrity, process improvement, and customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS

-excellent written and verbal communication skills

-strong analytical and organization skills

-customer service experience

-knowledge of MS Windows 2000/XP, MS OFFICE, MS EXCHANGE, PC HARDWARE/SOFTWARE

-knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) and SAP Systems a plus

-RETAIL ENVIRONMENT EXPERIENCE a definite plus!

-strong technical aptitude
